For Philip's birthday, Paul and I decided to decorate his room. It sounds easy enough, but have I complained enough about removing wallpaper yet? haha. Scrubbing the walls wasn't much fun either but it was all worth it in anticipation of the finished product. With many hours spent looking for the perfect paint colour ("Shadow of Doubt" was the final choice), a midnight run to Home Depot, and tons of help from Uncle Foon in the painting department, we were able to get the walls done (which was the biggest job) well ahead of schedule. Then, I found an amazing deal on craigslist where I purchased the twin car bed. It was a splurge decision on my part, but it turned out to be the best purchase ever because Philip's eyes light up everytime he sees his bed and he has no trouble sleeping in it whatsoever. Next, we needed a theme. We thought a superhero theme would work well because it would make both Philip and Paul happy (I'm not sure who the room was REALLY for... haha), but in the end, everything I picked out seemed to be Spiderman because it was easy... not much Batman, Superman, Iron Man or Silver Surfer out there for kids, it seems. So, with Auntie Ami's old furniture, new Spiderman bedding courtesy of Uncle Daniel, a few posters here and there, and of course all his books and toys, his room is essentially complete. Philip really loves his new room and we're pretty proud of it too. Happy 2nd birthday little buddy from mommy and daddy! :)
