Nearing the end of a really tough school year, I desperately needed a break so we headed to Niagara Falls for a little getaway. We drove there Friday evening so we could watch the Falls illuminated at night and what a pretty sight it was. We were a little unsure as to whether there would be fireworks as well since it was raining, but we were surprised by the loud booms right in front of us as we were staring at the beauty that is Niagara Falls. It turned out to be a fantastic evening with my two favourite guys and just what I needed. Our hotel was just a short walk away from the Falls too which made it even better. Our next adventure will be to wake up and see Niagara Falls during the day! :)
I finally found some time to volunteer at Philip's school, so I was a "scientist in the classroom" for the afternoon! I helped kids classify insects, pick the best backgrounds to camoflauge them and had them colour some lovely butterflies, noting the symmetry on both wings of course! Philip is almost done Junior Kindergarten and will be headed to Senior Kindergarten in the fall. Here are a couple of pics of him playing in the playground. My little guy is so grown up now!
It was Po Po's birthday, Stan's birthday and Father's Day so we had one big bbq at Joanna's house to celebrate all three! We initially started out in the backyard but it was way too hot so we took it inside. There was a lot of food as is the norm with all Duong get-togethers, and it was fun watching the kids colour and play with each other. Happy birthday Stan-Ly (haha) and Happy Father's Day to all the fathers out there! :)
Philip made not one, not two, but THREE cards for Paul on Father's Day to make him feel extra special! He also went to a claymaking workshop at school and made a funny face and plaque for him too. Happy Father's Day to the best daddy in the whole world! We love you, Paul! :)
Arya celebrated her 4th birthday at the St. Albans Boys and Girls Club. It was a very structured birthday party (just the way I like it... hehe) with one hour in the gym, followed by an hour for eating and cake, and followed by an hour in the pool. After the pool, we walked over to the Bari residence to hang out in their backyard. Thanks for the really fun birthday party, Arya, and we hope you had a very happy 4th birthday! :)
