Since it was chilly out, Philip couldn't wear his Captain America costume trick-or-treating so we went with a warmer Shrek costume instead. Armed with his Shrek flashlight too, Philip scared the neighbourhood with his monster-sized Shrek head which was considered by many of the adults as the best costume on the street! Needless to say, his loot was quite impressive and there was so much candy lying around that I had to bring some to school for the voracious teens to finish off for us! Happy Hallowe'en everyone! :)
Philip wanted to carve a pumpkin this year so we got a little one for him. We went online and chose a cute face with a circle nose, just like Philip asked for. The whole process was pretty simple but I must admit carving a little one was harder than carving a big one! Next year, I think we'll go with a family of pumpkins and get Paul in on the action too. Isn't Philip's baby circle-nosed jack-o-lantern cute? :)
We decided to have a Hallowe'en party this year because we wanted everyone to use their costumes more than once! We had a great turnout and it was fun seeing all the kids dressed up (and some adults too!) while doing Halloween crafts (thanks Yen Vi!), decorating cupcakes and cakes with Yen Vi's yummy frosting, and of course jumping around in the bouncy tent! I hope everyone had as much fun as we did and we hope you all enjoy trick-or-treating tomorrow evening! Dress warmly! :)
Philip requested that he dress up as Captain America for Halloween this year so of course we accommodated him. Finding a Captain America costume in Canada was a little tough but you can always count on Halloween specialty stores in Etobicoke to "save the day"! We absolutely had to get Captain America's Mighty Shield too to complete the look! Philip tried it on the second we got home and it was a clear winner. We loved how it fit on him and he just loved running around as Captain America. Now he has a coolest costume ever to wear to school and for his upcoming Hallowe'en party! :)
Natalie and Philip went to see the Wiggles' Wiggly Circus at the Rogers Centre! The kids enjoyed singing along to all the familiar songs and clapping to the music. Philip's absolute favourite part though occurred when Murray read his sign that said "Philip & Natalie Love the Wiggles!" It was an entertaining show all-around but a special thanks to Murray for making Philip's day! :)
We celebrated Michael's 36th birthday (and my belated birthday) at Joe's condo. Thanks Sandra and Joe for dinner and thanks for always being so thoughtful and caring too. :)
We had another cake for my 34th birthday which doubled as a Thanksgiving dinner as well. My family gathered at our house for the occasion and it reminded me how truly thankful I am to have such a loving family around me. I really am a lucky person. :)
