I ♥ NY

We decided to take a trip to New York City just for fun this past weekend. Paul and I were contemplating whether or not we should take Philip, but decided that he would enjoy all the sites too so we took him along. In the 4 short days we managed to hit a lot of the sites such as the Empire State Building, the Chrysler Building, Rockefeller Center, Ground Zero, Times Square, Central Park, the Brooklyn Bridge, Wall Street, Chinatown, Little Italy, Soho, and the Metropolitan Museum of Art, and even managed to get some shopping done at Century 21. We also hooked up with Wen, Rafi, and some friends from New York for dinner on Saturday night. All in all, it was a fun but hectic trip, and Paul and I got a lot of exercise in with all that walking! The only down side is that we didn't hit as many museums as Paul would have liked (although he was quite happy at the MET!), and we didn't hit any broadway shows. Oh well, I'm sure the next time we're there we'll get to see a lot more of what New York has to offer!

We Love Little Tikes

Eileen, Alexander and Lucas spent a couple of days at our house during their stay here in Toronto. Alexander loved playing with all of Philip's toys and especially loved going outside to play with the Cozy Coupes and scooter. Eileen also got to spend some quiet time at my place which is a rare thing for her these days! Thanks for staying over and playing with Philip, Alexander, and you're always welcome back whenever you feel like it... bring along Lucas and mommy again too! :)

Kyle's 2nd Birthday Bash

Our busy Sunday ended off with going to an indoor playground to celebrate Van's son, Kyle's 2nd birthday. There were tons of kids there and they all looked like they were having the time of their lives. Philip loved playing with all the new toys, but once he saw the ball pit, that was it! He squealed "baw, baw!!" with excitement and headed straight for it. We really could have left him there for hours and he wouldn't have minded one bit, but there were plenty of other toys that I wanted him to explore, including the roller coaster car which he loved as well (check out the video!). It was also nice catching up with Binh and Van (and their two boys), Hawa (she has a boy and two girls!) and some other people I hadn't seen in a long time. Happy 2nd birthday, Kyle, and thanks for having your party at such a fun place! I think I'm going to have to invest in a ball pit for Philip now... more toys to clutter the house, yay! :)

Meet Cousin Lucas!

Philip met cousin Lucas for the first time on Sunday! The Changs came to town to celebrate Lucas' one month party and, boy, did Lucas ever get a lot of red envelopes! Do we even want to know how much was inside each one of them?? hehe. Congrats again to the Chang family for giving my parents their fifth grandson (we need a girl in the family now!) and getting all the boys together to play again. Philip looks forward to hanging out with Lucas and Alexander in the next couple of weeks while they're here!

He Walks!

I just realized that I haven't posted any videos of Philip lately! As mentioned in previous posts, he's been walking for two and a half months now. He's now progressed to almost running but I haven't captured any videos of that yet. Here is a video I just took of him yesterday walking and saying hi to me. Check out all the baby gates... haha... they're a lifesaver, trust me! Sorry for the tennis coverage in the background... Philip and I have become quite the Wimbledon junkies since TSN shows it all day! More videos to come, I promise! :)

Auntie Ami's Birthday

We celebrated yet another birthday on the long weekend! This time it was Auntie Ami's 33rd birthday and we had my family over for lunch/dinner. Uncle Daniel bought a huge ice cream cake for his sweetheart that was devoured by both the adults and the children. Happy 33rd birthday, Auntie Ami, love Philip and the whole Duong family! :)
